Underheard.org is produced and maintained by Orangedude, Ltd.

We're a handful of music lovers and technologists, who are embarassed by the state of American commercial radio and the American music industry. We know that there's plenty of good stuff to listen to out there, but thanks to profit-minded entities like Clear Channel and RIAA, you can no longer find it on either your radio dial or your computer.

It's past time for that to change. Today, more Americans have broadband internet access than have a community radio station in their town. Underheard.org is here to bring the best of independent radio to the entire Internet community.

Sadly, the best days of freeform FM radio are gone. However, the best is yet to come for digital music. We're here to show you what's possible when you don't have to grab every dime of available profit; when radio is driven by the music. When the music is chosen by by the whims of the the DeeJay, and whatever he's been drinking that evening.

The staff of underheard.org are volunteers. Nobody's getting paid here. We don't have ad banners. We don't make money. We don't really even want your donation (please give it to one of our stations instead.) We're doing this because we love music, and because we think that your ears deserve better than they've been getting.

The shows on this website do not originate here. We do not have any control over their content, and we do not claim any copyright to them. In general, we do not ask for permission before carrying a show, though we've heard encouragement from several station managers.

If you are the owner of the copyright of a show that we carry, and you would like it removed from underheard.org, please contact us via Email and we will gladly honor your request. We love community radio, and we're trying to help get more exposure for these great shows and stations. We do not want to be accused of stealing anything.
